ENGLISH LANGUAGE CHALLENGES

Imagen
I´ve always enjoyed learning English and this time has been no exception. I've loved the way that we could talked about a lot of topics and that the teacher has been always nice, patient, and comprehensive. I didn´t have an English class at university before, but I think that in this course the written and the oral have been integrated in a very good way. I feel like I had an interesting time regardless the connectivity problems.  The blogs have been really helpful for me, especially when it comes to read our classmates blogs. And that is because we're all studying different things, so when there were topics that involved our careers, I found a lot of different vocabulary to learn from. There is also the fact that I didn´t know a lot of vocabulary about my own area and I had to do some research.  I still have tons of vocabulary to learn, I know that, and that is actually the one thing that I'm always going to be trying to improve. But I...

CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME

Imagen
It is pretty hard to reflect about this matter because I got into college when the pandemic started so I haven´t had my subjects as they correspond nor have I experienced university life. Besides, my career demands a lot of praxis and physical interaction, which is being pretty much impossible to access with the pandemic's limitations. Even on top of this, I've had classmates this semester that took a year off that have shared with me differences that they found between what they were being taught and what is currently being taught to us. So it happens to be that my class is missing a lot or getting the knowledge very disorderly. I had subjects like "Actuación y teatralidad" and "El actor y el colectivo" on my first semester, and my classmates that took a year off told me that subjects of this semester like "Creación de personaje" and "Puesta en escena" are very much like those other courses, when they're supposed to be very differe...

POSTGRADUATE STUDIES

Imagen
I'm currently studying drama and, just like any other art, academic training is never a need. If you chose to study it in a university you have certain reasons that aren't related to the fact that you will most likely  HAVE to go to college after you leave school. Because the arts area is unstable and it is not like playing safe anyways. Or at least that is what I think. So, even though postgraduate studies is a very common phenomenon in my family and I've always been encourage to study as much as possible, when I first started to think about this matter nothing occurred to me. Nevertheless, at some point I considered that I've always wanted to take some acting course in front of camera, since my university is focused in theater. That other way of acting involves skills that I´m not being taught but that I want to have.  Another thing that came to my mind are musicals,  because right before the pandemic I managed to enter a musicals academy, but...

JOB...

I like versatility, I could never work in an office and stay there for hours and keeping that monotony. That just does not matches me. I like creative spaces that require physical activity and exploration of the potential of the body. Which makes sense since I´ve always been a very restless person. And I´m currently majoring in drama, so, indeed, I'd like a job in the performing arts area. Particularly, I like acting, screen acting and theatre acting. But I also want to explore direction and dramaturgy, specially this last one because regardless I prefer movement I´ve always liked writing, novels, not plays. But since I have a dramaturgy subject I´ve had the possibility to learn about writing plays and it´s been awesome to me. Besides, the arts area is not an easy industry, in fact, it's not even a real industry in Chile, so it's important to be able to know how to operate different skills, so you have more opportunities. Although, that happens in all kinds of w...

A PHOTOGRAFH I LIKE

Imagen
This is a picture of some of my friends that live in Perú and I when I went to visit Cajamarca (where I was born) to celebrate the cajamarcan carnivals in February, 2019. I don't really remember who toke the picture but it was probably just some random stranger. Music, dance, carnival floats, carnival queen contests and neighborhood contests, water and paint wars and alcohol are some of the things that are part of the carnival and they're distribute in determined days, so the kids would be able to attend the ones that are a safe space for them. For example, when I was little I used to be taken to watch the floats and people dancing. Also, my friends, some family members and I used to attend to water wars that took place in some parks. But there's also a day when a lot of people go to the streets, play some instruments, sing some "coplas", wage a paint war with everyone around and drink "chicha de jora" . It starts very early in the morning and last for a...

ABOUT MOVIES

Movies. I love movies, because they are entertainment and sometimes all I need is entertainment and just some moments to enjoy a little bit of "non real realities". And they provide opportunities to share time with people. Besides, there is a lot of work behind them and it's interesting to me to know and understand how things work in order to create what we see on the screen, whether we're talking about movies that have a lot of symbologies to be discovered or movies with green screens and a lot of digital work.  I like all kinds of movies, but I do have some preferences with the genres. I tend to watch romance, arthouse and fantasy. Romance just because I like to empathize with the characters feelings, it's exciting. Arthouse because analyzing them you find out so many interesting things about them that were kind of hidden or just needed more attention. And fantasy because with them we have the possibility to SEE entire crazy worlds that don't ex...

A SHAWN MENDES CONCERT

Imagen
Well, today I'm gonna share with you the best concert I've had, which is actually the only concert I've ever went to. It was Shawn Mendes concert on December 10, 2019, at the Movistar Arena. I got the tickets as a gift by the time I graduated from school, and I say tickets because there were two of them, so I had to invite someone. I ended up inviting one of my best friends that also liked Shawn Mendes music. My mom drove us from Quillota to Santiago and we listened to his music all the way, just to get on the mood. When we arrived, we bought some bandanas with Shawn Mendes name and some lights toys and we were ready to enjoy the concert.   As it was my first concert ever I was completely impressed, it didn't felt real, he was so close to us! Some of the songs that he played were: Lost in Japan, There's nothing holding me back, Señorita, Where were you in the morning? and In my blood . I sang so loud that I had no voice the next day, but it was worth it. Wh...
